Rev. Arlyn Macdonald has been the minister of the Spiritual Awareness Center for the past 8 years. She is an ordained minister of the Church of Truth in Pasadena, CA. She holds a BA in Community Arts and Small Business Management from Loretto Heights College in Denver, CO and an equivalent of a Master's Degree in Religious Philosophy. She graduated from the Albert Grier School for Ministerial Studies before becoming an ordained minister. She is currently working on her Ph.D. She is a Certified Huna Teacher/Counselor and has written three books on the ancient Hawaiian teachings. She has also contributed articles to various newspapers and magazines. She offers spiritual counseling through the Center.
Teaching has always been her passion and she has taught business management courses, grant writing, and marketing through her own Management Consultant business and many spiritual growth classes through churches and through the Spiritual Development Institute, of which she is now the Dean. She completed several workshop tours throughout the US and Canada teaching personal growth workshops. On her workshop tours she realized how hungry people are for spiritual knowledge and continues to work to provide that knowledge through the school and her ministry.
She has always been an advocate for peace and through her efforts the local community of Montrose now hosts the annual Week of Unity and Peace in September. In 2011, she was awarded the International Peace Award by the Western Colorado Friends of the Himalayas.
On a personal note, Rev. Arlyn and her husband, Donald, have six children and 18 grandchildren. Their family is very important to them as well as the spiritual family of the Spiritual Awareness Center.
