                         AFFIRMATION FOR FEBRUARY
I open my Heart to Love.  I am an expression of Love.  I give and receive Love freely and unconditionally.  I Love myself first and then I can Love others.

                             THE COMPASSIONATE HEART

We are learning to live in two worlds - the mundane and the spiritual world that connects us deeply to our being. The first step to opening the Compassionate Heart is to be aware of a tiny window that appears to show you a better way to do something or think about someone.  Your heart opens just a little and your awareness grows.  The next window opening is more powerful and you are dazed by the glimpse of Light and Love.  But there is still more to discover as our hearts open. Rainer Maria Rilke wrote that we must be patient towards all that is unsolved in our hearts and try to love the questions themselves. The earthquake in Haiti opened the hearts of all the people of the world.  It was an abrupt opening, but a necessary one.  The Compassionate heart responded and relief poured  into thetiny island nation.  It is said that Haiti is one of the wings of the dove that forms the tiny island and the Dominican Republic is the other wing.  Without each other they cannot fly into the future.  Our Compassionate Hearts are feathers in the wings of the world.  We, as humanity, cannot fly into the future without each other, without caring for each other, without working to bring the basic necessities of life to each person, and honoring all spiritual beliefs.  All of these elements of the Compassionate Heart must be in place for us to survive.  It's a new world and time to open our Compassionate Hearts to practice and to take action, in the name of Love.  The answer to every question is always Love.  We are here to experience Love in all its glory and to give that glory away.  The Compassionate Heart is the Heart of God and we each carry a little piece inside us.  --Namaste.  --Rev.
