AFFIRMATION FOR SUMMER
As the world comes alive
with sun and rain, I come alive with the Divine Spirit. I celebrate my uniqueness and recognize the uniqueness of every
one I meet.
Musings From the Minister ...
I
thought I would receive more letters in response to my letter to the editor last month supporting the scientific research
that proving the same part of the brain of every human being is activated no matter the religious or spiritual prayer
or meditation. I understand this to mean that our spiritual life is very important and our brains are wired for our
spirituality. The one letter I received was well thought out and I know it took the person a long time to hand print it.
I appreciated his passion to research and respond to my letter. However, I must disagree with some of the ideas and
arguments he put forth to prove that there is only one way to God - the way he understands it. "Not all people
belong to God or will live in his Kingdom," was a statement the writer made. I believe all people were created
by and belong to God and will always and eternally live in God's kingdom. No exceptions! The writer also told me I was
"dangerously decepted" and would cause "eternal ruin to my own soul, and those of others." I do
appreciate the writer's concern for my soul and the souls of others, but I do not believe I am suffering any deception
about what rings as the Truth for me. Nor am I able to tell you what is the Truth for you. We all hold the Truth in
a little different way and the writer holds his Truth in his own way as well. The writer did quote, "You shall
know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free." This I agreed with whole heartedly. My Truth is still
growing. I have already tried to be limited by "Truth" and the rigidness of following only one Truth did not
work for me. Now I want to listen to God in my own way and grow in my understanding of that infinite and loving presence,
to rejoice in new knowledge of that presence, to live in the presence, and to celebrate with others the Truth that makes us
free. One God - Many Paths. God doesn't care which path we take, but we care and it is up to us to choose
the path that speaks to our hearts and follow that path to God and allow others to follow their own path. Namaste.
