SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The Summer Short Film Festival featuring our favorite short films from the last year will be shown on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 12:45PM at Lions Park in Montrose.
The Spiritual Awareness Center is a proud member of the Spiritual Cinema Circle. Monthly DVDs are available in the Center's library to local members. Our library houses not only the Spiritual Cinema DVDs but other DVDs for adults, CDs, spiritual audio tapes, children's video tapes and DVDs, and a large selection of spiritual books and resource volumes. Members can check out items from the collection by first calling 970-252-0908.
In addition to library films, the Spiritual Awareness Center sponsors the showing of special films during the year. These films and the dates and locations will be posted here.
"Sunday Fathers" is a touching French film about a father, Antoine, who is betrayed by his wife and leaves home and three children seeking advice from his childhood friend, Leo and his wife. Antoine discovers the importance of seeking laughter in the midst of adversity and that he can build a new life. Written an directed by Louis Becker. Some adult language and situations. (86 minutes in French with English subtitles).
Also included on the DVD is a bonus interview by Dr. Joan Borysenko who talks about the importance of building the skill of resiliency.
"Of Teaching Killer Whales Compassion" Joseph is a young homeless man whose life is changed through a chance encounter with a stranger. 15 minute in English. Written by Michael Langman and directed by Raphe Wolfgang.
"Lucy" An autistic girl and her imaginative world. 10 minutes in English and French with English subtitles. Written and directed by Libby Blood.
"Far" In the course of David's first date with Hannah, he discovers there's more to learn about her than he could have imagined. 23 minutes in English. Written and directed by Brian James Crewe.
